For this activity we created a community with a watershed. We added a factory, resident areas, a couple highways, a farm, and a gas station. All of this was planned around a lake and streams that flowed through the town. Our goal was to put everything in place so that the water would remain healthy. We failed, we didn’t add and waste management buildings or water treating centers. So the water from a town above us ended up flowing into our stream and contaminated our water. I learned that you really need a water treating plant and to able to communicate about city plans to that you don’t unintentionally sabotage each other. Some things I could change in my daily routine is to conserve as much water as possible. That is in order to not waste clean treated water, by turning off the faucet when in brushing my teeth or not turn on the water in the show until I actually get in.
